Woman Pulled Over, Harassed By Fake Cop

Police Monday were looking for a fake cop who pulled over a woman and made sexual comments to her, officials said. The victim, whose name was withheld, was driving near Francisquito and Conlon avenues in West Covina just after 12 a.m. Sunday when a man used a white spotlight and loudspeaker system to pull her over, according to West Covina police Lt. Marcos Plebani.

Los Angeles Crime Rate Lowest Since 1961

Crime was at a historic low in Los Angeles during 2008, which Mayor Villaraigosa Monday attributed to more police officers and interagency relationships. There were 381 murders in 2008, 15 fewer than the previous year, and the lowest number since 1969 when there were 377 homicides. New York and Chicago, in contrast, saw their murder rates increase in 2008.

Adrienne Davidson of Pomona rang in the new year with her husband as planned but then police say a bullet rang out. Police say that the 46-year-old woman allegedly shot her husband, killing him, before turning herself in to the Walnut Sheriff's station.
